Videon Expands Into High Density 12G Inputs and 4K P60 High Resolution Live Streaming

Videon Doubles LiveEdge® Input Density with General Availability of LiveEdge® Max

NEW YORK, NY, March 13, 2024––Videon announces the general availability of LiveEdge® Max powered by the Snapdragon® 865 5G Mobile Platform, and deeper density options. These additions to the LiveEdge family address the market demand for edge compute in higher density workflows and flexibility for remote production workflows. Enabling automated graphics insertion, ad marker insertion, real-time social media highlights to multiple 4Kp60 live video streams simultaneously.

Building on this momentum, Videon has become the de facto edge computing solution in the video technology industry by offering flexible, innovative, affordable, and reliable live video solutions. It has worked with over 400 sports venues and events, including football, baseball, hockey, auto racing, tier 2 and many niche sports. In 2023, Videon engaged in more than 84 proof of concept (PoC) deployments, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and reliability. Videon naturally fits within an ecosystem of 40+ technology partners and replaces encoders, laptops, and servers while reducing hardware footprints and power consumption, achieving sub-second glass-to-glass latency under 200ms, streamlining and automating manual processes, and enabling novel consumer viewing experiences and revenue growth opportunities for live events and sports.

"LiveEdge Max has been integral to our operations, providing us with the high-density, high-resolution support necessary for live streaming concerts from iconic artists around the globe,” said Brad Serling, Founder and CEO of nugs.net. “Its reliability, cost-effectiveness, energy efficiency, and compact design, coupled with dual 4Kp60 support, have enabled us to meet our technical requirements and audience expectations seamlessly. LiveEdge Max's solution stands out for its ability to handle our specific demands in the live music streaming space."

LiveEdge® Max:

- The most capable edge computing device to-date tailored for high-density workflows. It supports dual 4Kp60 encoding and runs multiple Docker containers simultaneously, featuring enhanced capacity for AI/ML tasks.

- Comes with standard two 12 G SDI inputs

Deeper density options include:

- LiveEdge® Rack: 6 to 6 inputs per 1RU rack mount.

- LiveEdge 2Go Max: 2 to 4 inputs in a rugged form factor with the option of vendor and provider agnostic cellular bonding options.

“Adding LiveEdge® Max and cellular solutions to LiveEdge® 2Go kits represents another step in our commitment to provide a suite of devices and form factors, to address consolidated and disparate  workflows, that leverage the same API, the same 3rd party Docker edge apps, and the same remote management environment,” said Lionel Bringuier, Chief Product Officer at Videon. “We’re dedicated to delivering ongoing updates in features, protocols, devices and form factors to our subscribers, ensuring they remain at the forefront of innovation in the rapidly evolving live video space."

Videon's exceptional product quality and customer experience are rooted in its integrated approach to software and hardware development, assembly, fulfillment, repair, and support, all managed by dedicated in-house teams in the U.S., Canada, and Kenya. Furthermore, the commitment to quality is evidenced by all LiveEdge devices and form factors being AS9100 certified, indicating they are built to meet stringent standards akin to those required for commercial aircraft components.

"An almost entirely in-house team has enabled us to create and implement new product interactions and services swiftly, from testing phases to addressing customer support requests,” said Paul Brown, Chief Technology Officer at Videon. “The team's contribution is significant, with nearly every Videon employee engaging with the product in some capacity. The success of our products is a result of this collective effort."
