State College, PA & Seattle, WA, February 10, 2022— Videon, a leader in edge computing for live video, announces new hires, including three new members to its advisory board. The appointments enable the company to further accelerate innovation in its video edge computing platform and advance its go-to-market strategy.
The series of hires further bolster Videon’s executive team and deepen its technical expertise and experience in live video streaming. Videon already powers live streaming for sports, news, emergency services, and houses of worship across more than 19 countries. The announcement follows the company’s recent news of its additional $9m funding and industry-leading partners currently building and deploying applications that harness the benefits of Videon's edge computing capabilities for their customers.

Brian Lewis joins as Advisor.
Brian spent 25 years as an engineer and leader on software teams building avionics, consumer electronics, and video infrastructure. Most recently, he was co-founder and chief architect of Elemental Technologies. He is currently an investor and advisor for technology startups. Brian’s knowledge in the video space ranging from video codecs to end to end workflows enables him to be highly impactful to Videon’s product roadmap. Brian is building on that base to focus on the disruptive nature of moving key elements of cloud computing to the edge of the edge with Videon’s Edgecaster platform and LiveEdge® Compute. Brian is most focused on exploring opportunities to augment video with edge computing in a way not possible when he founded Elemental Technologies.
Andreas Jacobi joins as Advisor.
Andreas co-founded and managed several technology and media companies as CEO in Germany and the US. He is a serial entrepreneur passionate about building teams and great software. Most recently as co-founder and CEO of Make.TV Inc. before its acquisition by LTN Global, where he served two years as General Manager. Andreas holds patents in the field of cloud-based video production and consumption. He has won a number of industry awards, including NewBay awards from TVB Europe and TV Technology, Digital TV Europe, Broadcast Tech Innovation, NAB Show Award, IPTV, Webby, RedDot, Grimme Institut, and Eco. Andreas’ deep knowledge of video technology will enable him to support Videon in identifying future trends in new consumer experiences and monetization innovations related to live video.
David Price joins as Advisor.
David is currently Principal at Scala Advisors LLC. and holds a number of Board and Advisory positions in the TV and Media technology industry. He has driven transformational activities providing advanced technology in the TV and Media industry since the transition to digital technology and has driven aggressive top and bottom line growth as an executive in a number of leading communications technology companies around the world.
Previously he held the position of Vice President, Strategic Business Development, TV and Media at Ericsson based in Silicon Valley, USA.. Prior to Ericsson, David was a member of the executive team at Harmonic Inc. and helped grow profitable revenues from less than $50m to over $500m before moving on to Ericsson. David was previously Vice-President with TV/COM International and prior to that, Vice President at M/A-COM Linkabit (Hughes).
David was also Founder and Board Member of the Ultra HD Forum, the VR Industry Forum and the DASH Industry Forum and is past-President of the MPEG Industry Forum. He is an advisor to many TV, Media and Technology conferences around the world and is a judge on many of the industry awards each year.
As an advisor to Videon, David has been highly engaged with strategy development, market positioning, and technology insight. David’s background in video streaming enables highly actionable discussions that support quick findings as Videon dynamically develops its positioning in anticipation of rapid evolution of some elements of cloud computing moving to the edge of the edge at the point of video origination using the EdgeCaster platform with LiveEdge® Compute.
Lionel Bringuier appointed as VP, Products.
Lionel has 25 years of experience in the telecommunications, broadcast, and media industry, managing real-time and mission-critical services in voice and video applications. He has launched several successful products and services for companies including AWS and Anevia. At Videon, Lionel drives the product strategy and establishes the roadmap of the Videon portfolio, expanding its ecosystem of products that are uniquely positioned to respond to the challenges of the growth in video production and consumption.
Richard Carreon promoted to VP, Marketing.
Richard has been promoted from Sr. Director of Marketing to Vice President, Marketing. Since joining Videon in August 2021, Richard has developed a world-class marketing team that most recently launched the industry’s first video edge computing platform. As VP, Marketing, Richard will oversee Videon’s global strategic marketing and communications, driving new product adoption and continued customer growth.
Milo Thomas, MBA, PMP joins as Senior Director, Customer Experience and Operations.
Milo brings 18 years of client management experience in the technology industry, managing large-scale clients across North America. Milo served as Director of Customer Experience for Avail Technologies, where he established a data-led approach to enhancing customer experience. As Senior Director, Customer Experience and Operations, Milo will drive strategy and ensure a high-end Videon experience for customers to further enhance value from their Videon products.
Lauren Weigold joins as Director, Human Resources.
With over 14 years of human resources leadership experience, Lauren has unrivaled knowledge and management skills. In tandem with her tenure at Penn State in the Office of Entrepreneurship & Commercialization, her Masters degree in Human Resources Management and her Doctorate in Strategic Leadership, Lauren has served in the United States Pennsylvania Army National Guard and is currently a Human Resources and Logistics Non-commissioned Officer. Lauren will implement new processes to elevate Videon’s HR strategy while ensuring the company’s positive culture is maintained.
