Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with legal requirements and adherence to overall company objectives
  • Provide advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies and procedures to employees as well as our leadership team
  • Develop and maintain relationships with job posting sites, employment agencies, universities, employee referrals and other recruitment sources
  • Manage the full recruitment life cycle – identify job candidates; initial evaluation of applicant skills and qualifications; schedule interviews; participate in interview and selection process as needed; extend offers upon selection
  • Oversee and improve our onboarding/offboarding program including paperwork, onboarding/offboarding sessions and tool management
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and job applicants
  • Establish and maintain confidential files and records, and perform administrative tasks such as data entry and the writing and distribution of correspondence and documents
  • Direct the administration of benefit programs to include: health, retirement, life, disability
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to benefit programs and perquisites
  • Provide statistical and data analysis as needed
  • Investigate and analyze matters of concern to staff and applicants and recommend and implement appropriate remedial measures
  • Evaluate procedures and technology solutions to improve human resources data management
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for the department and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Further develop and support our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives
  • Be a steward of our culture through planning company events and employee engagement programs

Qualifications

  • Possess a firm understanding of human resource issues
  • Experience with HR innovation around areas of tooling and service providers which drive efficient processes 
  • Experience supporting technical, engineering talent, both onsite and remote working
  • Experience with international expansion desirable
  • HR experience in early stage, venture funded companies desirable
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
  • Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement, preferred
  • Ongoing affiliations with leaders in successful companies and organizations that practice effective Human Resources Management 
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated, exceptional work ethic and energetic team player
  • Active Listening–Giving full attention to what people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Active Learning–Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision making
  • Critical Thinking–Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

Education

  • 4-year degree in Human Resource management or relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in similar position
